Kicking off the festive season is the annual Christmas Lights Switch on & Late Night Shopping event on the 24th November when the High Street will be packed with festive cheer and lots of local retailers will be staying open late so you can snap up your Christmas gifts.
The event will start at 5pm in the town centre and will feature live performances by The Silhouette Show, Rock Choir and Magician Nick Clark. The arrival of the festive period will also be marked with a range of stalls selling locally made Christmas gifts and produce. There will also be street food on offer from Three Stack Pancakes and Cafe 72’s BBQ.
Making sure that everything is fully festooned for the big switch event on the 24th November; local elves are working with Littlehampton Town Council and the Trader’s Partnership to introduce a sparkling new range of lights and decorations, which will include the town’s first ever interactive display. With elves drawn by Sussex artist Steve Carroll, residents are being asked to find their favourite elf on one of the town centre buildings and to strike a pose for an ‘elfie selfie.’ People are then asked to share their snaps on social media with #LAelfie.
Don’t forget you can enjoy free parking for 2 hours, simply pick up a disc from participating outlets. Town centre businesses are spreading festive cheer to their customers with many staying open until around 8pm, making it an ideal opportunity to snap up Christmas presents for your loved ones. Plus it will be Black Friday so there will be some bargains to be had as many businesses put on special offers.
