Littlehampton Bonfire Society are pleased to announce that the Traditional Torchlight Procession with Bonfire & Fireworks will return in 2026, for the 74th year.

The event will feature a War Memorial Service which will take place at the Cenataph to kick the bonfire celebrtions off followed by a massive Torchlight Procession through the town featuring Marching Bands, Floats, Walking Groups and visiting bonfire societies. This will be followed by the lighting of our massive Bonfire on the seafront before the sky is lit-up by a spectator fireworks display.

10:00am – Street Collection, Organs & Programme Sellers

From 10:00hrs in Littlehampton High Street, LBS members will be out and about with collection buckets and selling programmes. While you walk through the High Street, you will be able to listen to the beautiful sounds of the Organs.

14:00pm – William Cole’s Family Funfair Opens

William Cole’s Funfair returns to the 2026 Littlehampton Bonfire Celebrations. Located on the seafront promenade by East Green Car Park.

18:00pm – War Memorial Service

Each year at 6pm, members from the Littlehampton Bonfire Society lineup down Maltravers Road and parade to the War Memorial with a marching band, where there will be a 20 minute service and the laying of the bonfire wreath which is lead by the Society’s Chairman & Commander In Chief.

19:30pm – Grand Torchlight Procession

The Grand Torchlight Procession will leave St Catherine’s Road at approximately 7:30pm.

The procession will feature a number of carnival entries from local groups, outstanding marching bands and bonfire societies from all across Sussex!

There will also be light torches in the procession and we would like to ask members of the public not to pick up any discharged torches as they will still be hot!

21:00pm – Lighting of the Bonfire

The bonfire will be lit once the procession has come to an end and once all the bonfire societies have arrived at the fire site. The lighting of the bonfire will be lead by the society’s Chairman & Commander In Chief.

21:15pm – Fireworks Display

The grand fireworks display will return to our Bonfire Celebrations. Located on Littlehampton Promenade by Banjo Road. The display will last for approximately 10 minutes and will feature sparkling effects, Roman Candles, loud bangs and more.

We would like to ask members of the public to stay out of the fireworks saferty area. Please listen to the event security who are there to keep you safe.

21:40pm – Return Procession

After the spectacular fireworks display comes to an end, as always there will be a Return Procession which will feature a Marching Band, Littlehampton Bonfire Society and any other visiting societies.

This short procession will form-up down Banjo Road and will parade straight down Fitzalan Road to the Littlehampton Baptist Church.

Once again there will be light torches and we ask members of the public not to pick any discharged torches.

22:00pm – Bonfire Prayers

Following the return procession, we will be holding our annual bonfire prayers outside the Littlehampton Baptist Church on Fitzalan Road.
