Traditional torchlight parade, Bonfire & Fireworks

Traditional Sussex Torchlight parade featuring massed costumed bonfire societies, illuminated floats, a Scottish pipe and drum band, traction engines, marching groups and other bands. The parade winds through the streets and down to the east beach green where an enormous bonfire is lit. This is followed by a spectacular firework display!Cole’s funfair is present to further entertain the whole family.
There will be a variety of food vendors and drinks.
We discourage alcohol consumption and recommend all dogs to be left at home due to the crowd size anticipated and excited children.
The event is free to attend. However the whole thing is planned and funded by a small group of volunteers and costs for 2026 are anticipated to be in the region of £35,000. We rely upon the generosity of local businesses and individuals to sponsor the event, fundraising through the year and money generated by the public via the street collection and our Just Giving page. Please be generous. Our funds are running low as costs are ever increasing.
